This relates not least to issues of collective agreements and location in the shipbuilding industry; in other words, the question arises as to whether Germany can continue to hold its own as a location in an international comparison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest trends and innovations play a major role in meeting, addressing or preparing for all of this. These, in turn, influence other aspects, such as the approach to recruiting young talent in the shipbuilding industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The industry must rise to these challenges. Shipping is, in fact, essentially a green mode of transport, as it is the most efficient method of transport. This means that, from the outset, it produces fewer pollutants than, for example, transport by aeroplane or lorry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, fewer pollutants does not mean no pollutants. Indeed, precisely because of its efficiency, shipping is the most widely used mode of transport. It is therefore important to focus on new technologies in this area in order to reduce emissions and improve sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-welche-klimaziele-gelten-fur-den-seeverkehr\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What climate targets apply to maritime transport?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against this backdrop, it is no wonder that \u2018green shipbuilding\u2019 has long since become a buzzword. In line with this trend, international organisations such as the IMO (International Maritime Organisation) have set ambitious climate targets.
